Narrative Outline
People listen to stories. So whether you are writing a slide presentation or developing content for public use, thinking of the information you want to be conveyed as a story to be told leads to more memorable messages and meaningful actions.

Harnessing the power of stories to design more engaging and effective communications

Step 1: Post-up the key content
The Narrative Outline play starts with a post-up of the important content elements for your communication.

Step 2: The facilitator then asks some key questions to start building the narrative.
For example:
- What is the purpose of this communication?
- Is there a problem are you trying to solve?
- Who are you telling this story to?
- Why should they care?
- What action do you want them to take?

Step 3: Organize the Information into An Outline
Start organizing your post-its in a narrative flow that leads your audience toward your desired action. You can capture this outline in a document and then use this Narrative Outline to build more detailed content.
